HR Compliance Update: 2017 EE0-1 Survey

Written by Jen Leigh | September, 02, 2017

On September 1, 2o17 the EEOC confirmed that employers are not required to submit wage and hour data on this years EEO-1 form.

Employers who filed a 2016 EEO-1 report received an email instructing them to report the same data as they did for 2016; specifically noting that the ".. EEO-1 collects race, ethnicity and gender data by job category, just as the EEO-1 has done for fifty years, and does not include the collection of pay data" .

This notice relieved employers of the requirement to add summary pay data and hours worked data for the 2017 reporting cycle.

2017 EEO-1 Filing Date is March 31, 2018

Employers are required to file EEO-1 Reports by March 31, 2018, based on a workforce snapshot taken between October and December 2017. The information to be reported will include demographic information by EEO-1 job category, but it will not include information on compensation or hours worked

Who is Required to File

Employers with 100 employees or more and federal contractors with 50 employees or more AND $50,000 in contract(s) will be required to report the same data that they reported on the EEO-1 report they used for 2016, a count of of employees by race, ethnicity, sex, and job category.
